bringing simplicity, versatility, and quality to your closet
clothes minded—my slow fashion evolution
Okay, here’s the thing. I used to be a total “fast fashion” girl. I would buy 4 shirts at Target that were $8 each that I *sort of* liked, and then wear them a handful of times and get rid of them. Yikes. Soooooo wasteful. Thankfully, something shifted in me when I graduated college, and I was ready to be intentional with my clothing—shopping for quality, not quantity. Only buying things that I was OBSESSED with and not settling for “good enough.” The result? I have absolutely zoned in on my personal style. Getting dressed is a breeze—because I have a straightforward closet that mixes and matches with ease and is true to me + my style. (Not to mention how much better it is for the environment when we lessen our clothing purchases! Highly, highly recommend watching “The True Cost” documentary on Netflix about clothing waste + global warming if you haven’t yet!)
So where do I get my clothes? Welp. let’s chat about it, shall we???
this brand is game. changing.
vetta capsule
To be honest— I get 80% of my clothes from one single company. Vetta Capsule has been my absolute go-to clothing brand since the millisecond I graduated college and was ready to invest in a “big girl” wardrobe. I wanted versatile clothing that would stand the test of time—and that is exactly what Vetta Capsule provides. This brand has singlehandedly allowed me to build a small but mighty wardrobe and shown me what it means to truly shop with intention.
With my new clothing mindset shift and this brand, I have gone through a major clothing overhaul: resulting in a small closet with minimal items that I love. Their pieces are built to mix ‘n’ match—simple items that can be worn multiple ways. Quality, timeless, and sustainably made? This brand is MAGIC. Below is an example of one of their collections—
READY TO BE BLOWN AWAY? Above is just one of the capsule collections that vetta has created! *swoon* They have countless capsule collections are made up of 5 items that can combine to create at least 30 different outfits. Ummmmm, it’s a no brainer. :) Browse through and find the one that speaks most to you! It’s time to simplify your wardrobe, yes?
HOW I DO IT: Here’s a secret: you don’t have to buy the whole collection! You can buy each piece separately, woot woot! I typically buy 1–3 pieces from each release, and then I buy the entire collection of the ones I am most obsessed with! (Cough, cough the “natural” capsule, the “relaxed” capsule, and the “casual” capsule that I outline below!)
INVESTMENT: Amazing, right?! To boil it down: if I could only have one clothing brand for the rest of my life it would be Vetta. Without question! MINDSET SHIFT: I remember the first time i bought a Vetta piece, I was soooo nervous. I had truly never bought a shirt for more than $40 in my life! And I was about to spend $80?! Welp, once I got my hands on it—I understood. Quality and timeless pieces that are built-to-last are worth investing in.
IN A NUTSHELL: From packing for vacations to date nights to work to interviews to weddings to coffee shop days, this is my go-to brand. It covers alllll my bases, and I feel so ethically sound buying from an eco-conscious, woman-owned company! If you couldn’t tell, I 11/10 would recommend. :) Let me know if you have any questions at all— just shoot me a DM on instagram @kate.eskuri if you have any questions about sizing, specific pieces, etc.
eco-friendly workout gear
girlfriend collective
If you’ve been following around awhile, you’ll know I am a huge runner, yoga lover, HIIT do-er, power walker—basically I looooove working out. And along with that, I think athletic clothes that make you feel secure, confident, and feisty are a crucial piece of the puzzle. While running collegiate track and field, all of my athletic clothes were provided for free through a Nike sponsorship (so grateful!), but once I graduated, I set out on a hunt to find a brand that I felt ethical buying from. AKA I wanted athletic clothes that were 1) quality 2) flattering and 3) eco-friendly. And honestly…I was stumped. I almost gave up. I didn’t think a brand like this existed.
And then I found Girlfriend Collective. This company is r e v o l u t i o n a r y. What drew me in? That their leggings and tops are made of recycled plastic? YUP. That they pay their workers a livable wage? YUP YUP. That they donate a portion of every sale to removing plastic from the ocean? TRIPLE YUP. I was intrigued. But also, like, thought it was too good to be true? Welp. I took the plunge and ordered a set and was blown away by the leggings themselves. Like, I knew I loved their mission, but I just didn’t expect the leggings to be better than my old Nikes and lulus. (Yup. F’real.) The fabric is super thick and does not pill whatsoever even after wearing to hot yoga and running and washing it over + over again. Quadruple YUP. Oh! and their packaging is completely plastic-free and their site has inclusive, diverse sizing and models! YUP^5.
Okay, I need to stop ranting now. Basically the bottom line is it’s that good. Pinky promise. You just found your dream, eco-friendly workout brand, my friend. Eco-friendly doesn’t have to be boring.

everlane
timeless (and ethical) staple pieces
Everlane. I had heard of this brand 903284032984 times before I actually tried them. and welp, IT IS WORTH THE HYPE. I mean……. I’m obsessed. *This* is now my go-to place where I get all of my wardrobe staple pieces. Their pieces are trendy yet TIMELESS. Also— I have NEVER seen a company more transparent in their sourcing, production, costs, profits, employee treatment, etc. It is SO refreshing. Not only are they straight-up and honest with their production, but sustainability, recycled materials, and organic cottons are the norm around here. Basically…. they’re a dream brand. a few extra random fitness clothing favs:
Athleta: Athleta clothing is a certified b-corp which means they design their business structure in a way that considers the environment. I would search specifically for their eco-friendly items on their site. Not everrrrrrything is great, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how eco-friendly Athleta is for such a big corporation!
This specific tank top: Okay, okay, THEE perfect $21 tank top. You heard the saga of this tank top. Basically I searched hiiiiiigh and low for a cropped, spaghetti strap tank top with a built in bra/padding. I wanted an eco-friendly one, but I COULD NOT find what I had in mind, and there’s the quote “Any piece of clothing can be ‘eco-friendly’ as long as you wear it often enough and don’t replace it unnecessarily.” Soooo since I couldn’t find the *exact* thing I was looking for in an eco-friendly way, I ended up finding this Amazon one and HOLY CRAP. Amazing. I mentioned it on my Instagram stories twice and over 400 of you bought it. And then bought it again in other colors. Hahahah, it’s just THAT good. Like, the perfect tank top.
Girlfriend Collective. didn’t I just rant about them? yup. but they are hands. down. the best option for eco-friendly work out gear. 11/10 would recommend.
The paloma girlfriend sports bra: You’ve heard me rant about this specific sports bra 3842743927 times, but for real. It has the PERFECT amount of support for high-impact (running, jumping, HIIT, etc.) and is a crop tank top length. It’s also made of recycled plastic and frome ethical working conditions. Hiiiiighly recommend.
lululemon: I tryyyyyyy not to shop at lulu too often as I know there are more ethical places to shop—however, the few items I do have from them (mostly leggings) have held up SO well. Literally everything on the site is so cute and quality (If you have not tried their align material yoga pants yet…. sister. BEST things ever.), but I always shop from the “we made too much” portion of their website that has alllll the sneaky sale prices. I love their high-waist fit. Again, not a brand that I will shop from all the time, but every so often when I need to replace a pair or something, their pairs really do hold up for the long haul!
Running shoes: There are a lottttttt of variance in workout shoes and what is best for your feet, but I typically opt for New Balance or Brooks for general working out, and then I run in altra running shoes (their wide toe box is game. changing.)
